America's Epidemic
Overweight Problem

America has a weight problem as indicated by the
growing number of people who are significantly
Overweight .The problem has grown to
epidemic proportions and there are many different
professed reasons for the cause. Some people claim
it is the fast food that people consume in huge
quantity coupled with the sedentary life many people
now lead. Still others claim that it is the variety
of chemicals and trans fats added to our food.

What ever the reason for the problem, it is up to
the individual to regain control of their weight.

The diet industry is a billion dollar industry as
people try everything from numerous diets, pills
and potions to lose weight. Unfortunately, they
lose weight for a short time, then regain it back
a few weeks later with some extra pounds
for all the effort.

Since people are all different in body type,
heredity and life style there doesn�t seem to be
a magic bullet for everyone; However, one thing
is true for everyone:

If you consume more calories than you burn,
your body will store the extra calories as fat.

The problem is what is the correct amount of
calories that you use daily? This number will be
different for everyone depending on the following
factors: How active are you? What type of foods
do you like? What is your body type? These are a
few things that you need to consider when
determining your calorie number.

Another problem many dieters have is they want
instant results. It took years to gain the weight
and now and they want it to disappear over night.
Your body slowly adjusted to the weight gain and
a fast weight lost is not the solution. It is far
better to slowly lose the weight by developing
better eating habits, which will last for the rest
of your life; and stop the yo-yo effect of
fast dieting.

Many people feel that all they need to do is to
eat properly and the body will adjust itself.
Unfortunately, when you lose weight and don�t
exercise, the fat disappears form your body leaving
folds of sagging skin in place If you lose
weight slowly and exercise, the skin will
retain its form.

Overweight has been proven to lead to many health
problems. If you are overweight, it is up to you to
get control. Doing it slowly and with exercise has
been proven to be the most beneficial way.
